This from a person who hasn't been to a movie theatre in over a year. Be kind.

1. Defiance... yes we went today
it is a very strong movie, based on real events around the Holocaust

A movie I told mom, DO NOT take dad to see... too close to home

Final credits, the music I was going... haven't heard that tune since I was in HS

2. Doubt, The Wrestler, Milk (if possible in your area)
All three are Oscar noms. Depends on what you want, though. Fun, eye-candy, comedy, depth, education, moving sentiment, etc...

8. The DH suggested the Button movie; when I told him it was 3 hours
long, he has backed off. He lurves the Oceans 11/12/13 movies.

27. I watched the first five minutes of it on my laptop and it looked pretty good.
Surprisingly. :) I heard one reviewer say it was a comedy with a heart.

10. I've seen "Slumdog Millionaire", "the Wrestler", and "Milk" in the
last week & all of them were incredible for differnt reasons.

The endings were very different & that may be the deciding factor.

Pick one & you can't go wrong.

24. It was okay...
I was a bit disappointed in it though. Maybe because of all the hype. I found it very much clichéd and predictable. Clint's best work this year was with Jolie.

34. I loved it. The Changeling wasn't even close. The fact that
Gran Torino and especially the "Dark Kight" were both snubbed for best picture means I'll be skipping Oscar this year. No wonder the ratings are down.

18. I loved the Benjamin Button movie. I also loved Slumdog
Millionaire. Frost/Nixon and Milk were excellent as well. I'm going to see The Reader and The Wrestler this weekend. If you could only see one, I'd suggest Slumdog Millionaire.

I haven't seen it, but I've read the book and it was very good. Usually movies don't do literature justice, but I've heard this one does.

23. Milk
Get in just a bit a head of the curve. This one is going to sweep the Oscars and besides, as weird as this sounds, even though Harvey dies in the end and that's no spoiler since it's a real story, the story itself is so upbeat and joyous.

I haven't see Slumdog millionaire thought, or Milk. I'm sure those are wonderful, I'll get used dvd copies on the internet since we didn't make it to the theatre to see them.

I had seen Doubt on stage a few years ago, the movie left me feeling exactly the way I did after the play, it's great.

37. Good to see Mickey coming back. I was also thrilled
for Robert Downey Jr and Ironman. We lose so many to senseless drug deaths, I am always pulling for those than dig themselves out of the hole. And Downey was about as far as you get before the next headline is "dead of a overdose".

Ironman was my fav this year. In many ways I liked it as well as Dark Knight.

28. First movie I've seen in close to a year
was Slumdog Millionaire. Very entertaining. The story is corny and sentimental, but you won't care. The Indian slums that provide the background to the movie are worth the price of admission. Stick around for the credits...
