NRCC: The Economy Is “Robust”

According to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Web site, the NRCC thinks the economy is “robust”…

“Thanks to Republican economic policies, the U.S. economy is robust and job creation is strong,” the site says.

The accuracy of this assertion aside, this seems newsworthy because of the larger political context here. It doesn’t seem particularly savvy, given that John McCain arguably lost the election in large part over his claim that “the fundamentals of our economy are strong.”

Update: NRCC spokesperson Ken Spain sends over a response:

“The site is currently under construction. We are looking forward to relaunching the site and fostering a discussion on how Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues’ proposal to spend their way out of this recession is absurd at best and financially ruinous at worst.”

As it happens, though, the site was updated as late as yesterday, with…a discussion of Pelosi’s economic policies.

2. Total disconnect
They seriously think that because their overseas accounts are packed full, the American economy is great. They're theives robbing a mansion - sure they're doing great, but at the expense of the provider.

These people have lost touch with reality.

No wonder they can't win elections.

10. Their own statesmen and poltiical candidates stopped saying that in September 2008.
They are lying. Outright LYING.

Maybe the site was hacked. Even die-hard Republicans I know of know that phrase is an outright lie.
