What best describes your feelings of the first couple of days of President Obama

I have truly enjoyed the first couple of days. I like waking up and wondering what the President is going to do today, without the dread.

He's done more work in these first couple of days than Bush did in his first 6 months in office. I think President Obama deserves some time off to go clear brush in Chicago.

Relief: to see the end of the Bush era.

Cautious hope: to see him ready to address issues immediately. Specifically, gitmo. Will he address the Patriot Acts, NCLB, NAFTA, and PEACE, with the same clear, firm, timely action? Probably not, according to his policy positions. But one step in the right direction is cause for some cautious hope.

Deep, abiding rage and blame: At Democrats who nominated a center-right candidate, at Democrats who excuse and support his center-right policies, and at those who threw my profession, education, under the bus with his selection. At Obama for Arne Duncan. At the public education and teacher-haters and bashers here on DU, and among Democrats in general who should know better.

Strong enmity and lack of respect for those who are eager to support and excuse anything the new administration says or does, including leaving the left wing of the nation behind.

10. The era of incompetence is finally over

The last 8 years were rough. I'm not ready to let go of my anger for all the crap Bush did, but I am capable of feeling very grateful for having a President that actually thinks through every aspect of an issue again. President Obama inherited several clusterf*cks and I don't expect him to fix the past 8 years in his first 100 days or even in four or eight years, but I do think he's capable of minimizing the damage as much as humanly possible.
