T.I.A. Total Information Awareness (very troublesome project)
Mentioned on KO tonight, the TIA changed into Information Awarness Office, but the first name was more apt.

The Information Awareness Office (IAO) was established by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the research and development agency of the United States Department of Defense, in January 2002 to bring together several DARPA projects focused on applying information technology to counter transnational threats to national security. The IAO mission was to "imagine, develop, apply, integrate, demonstrate and transition information technologies, components and prototype, closed-loop, information systems that will counter asymmetric threats by achieving total information awareness". Following public criticism that the development and deployment of these technologies could potentially lead to a mass surveillance system, the IAO was defunded by Congress in 2003, although several of the projects run under IAO have continued under different funding.

5. The eye on the pyramid is a symbol for God.
Its supposed to be a non-sectarian non specific image of God. Its old, tied to masons and some of their humanist ideals. I guess the gist is that the bricks are like people, and as we become closer to each other (moving up the pyramid) we also become closer to God. It just seems hilarious in that context, clearly based on conspiracy theories rather than a respect for the symbol.

6. Olbermann is on it. Whistleblower the last two nights-former NSA analyst named Tice

Young Turks video there.

Basically this Tice guy asked for data on a target specific time etc. and was told "We are on it 24/7 anyway"
Tice couldn't say but he thought (Olbermann implied) that this was T.I.A. still going on--not really a surprise

7. Russell Tice was taking us back in time on K.O. tonight.
I remember reading about the program back then.

I'd forgotten how scary it was, it was overshadowed by scarier shit, actually.
