Good Effing Grief
Career State Department employees are so happy to greet Hillary Clinton.

Condi must have been even worse than DUers long knew.

3. I got that impression from some of the other news clips yesterday.
These people are really HAPPY about the new boss.

And I'll bet he's the kind of boss who actually elicits genuine affection.

past eight years. Hillary is good - extremely articulate and carefully making it clear that President Obama is in charge.
Down with divisiveness

9. State fondly remembers the heady days of the 90's when the USA brand was the toast of the world.
They've spent the last 8 years on defense, forced to cover for the junta, on the world stage. Finally, they can get back to doing our business on the world stage.

13. I think malaise was just expressing amazement that things at State must have been
worse than we thought, and we thought it was gawd fucking awful.

I never saw malaise act the poop-flinging howler monkey during the primaries, so your judgement is unfair and I think you should apologize.

28. Same here! The Secret Service does an incredible job
It's the one thing in Washington that I think hasn't been politicized. Mainly because no president wants to piss off the people protecting their lives. ;)

19. 50% of career workers were gonna quit

I saw it this morning and the first spokesman for the department
was scathing towards the Bush administration.

It was encouraging to see their enthusiasm for change.
