Finally saw Syriana!
and my question is about the CLI. (The Committee to Liberate Iran) Is it a real organization, or just a fictional reference to those(big oil men) that would like to "liberate" that country the same way we "liberated" Iraq? I found it riveting and wished I'd seen it on the big screen. I know this movie is last year's news, but I thought it was a damned important film for every American to see.

1. I couldn't even stay awake thru it
so I can't answer your question. I thought the movie sucked big time.

4. That was a great movie. It told a truth that it seems cannot be told.
Kudos to Clooney and Soderbergh.

3. As far as I know, that group is fictional
I think it's a stand-in for the Project for the New American Century. Still, I have to say that movie was kind of simplistic while being overly complicated. Too many characters and storylines, not enough real exposition of the issues facing the world today.

5. Maybe they were afraid to be too blatant.

It also bore a striking resemblance to the Iraq National Congress....Chalabi's group.

6. I think that was implied.
The tone of the questions offered by the State Department woman -- will Iran have a business-friendly administration -- I thought pointed in that direction.

I agree with you that it was a great film. I enjoy compicated movies.
