And he's a lefty.

And so am I.

By the way, did you hear Feinstein? "I used to be a lefty, until bla, bla, bla..." Until she sold her SOUL! To the devil.

Washington: Following his inauguration on Tuesday, President Barack Obama walked into the Capitol and signed his Cabinet nominations and signed a proclamation of national renewal and reconciliation.

"I'm a lefty. Get used to it," Obama quipped as he signed his name. "I was told not to swipe the pen," he said after signing the document.

The last three presidents have signed similar proclamations in this same time and venue.

The nominations are to be presented to the Senate for confirmation by the full Senate.

An End to Childish*

Finally, the national nightmare ends. Finally, an adult, calling us all to put away childish things. Finally, surcease from Joe McCarthy's America into which I was born. Finally, The Usurper relieved of authority he wrongfully exercised these eight terrible years.

Yet it took Senator Diane Feinstein's "Thank you, Mr. President" to President Barack Obama -- accepting his signed documents transferring authority -- to ground me in today's profound reality. (I chuckled to hear him say of his handedness, "Now everyone will know I'm a lefty.")

Having endured decade after decade after sorry decade as our servants acted as our masters in defiance of our better angels, for the very first time I can -- and do -- identify with the person who will serve us as President.

Now begins the work of giving hope legs.

And I? I wept.

*-- When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. -- 1 Corinthians 13:11

24. "I was told not to swipe the pen."
Wouldn't it have put some people in a tizzy if he had presented the pen to some minor functionary like an intern or somebody's assistant whom no one had ever heard of before? That would certainly have made someone's day.

17. The left side of the body is controlled by the right side of the brain and vice versa. Thus ...
... it can be said that left-handers are in their right minds.

26. Left-handers have a distinct advantage at some sports, e.g. as baseball pitchers.
Edited on Wed Jan-21-09 04:41 PM by IntravenousDemilo
That's because most batters are right-handed, as reflects the population.

Sometimes she insisted on sitting to my right because the hearing in her right ear was weak. Our elbows bumped together continuously.
