PG&E Won't Cut Power During Inauguration After All
YUBA CITY, CA - Pacific Gas & Electric said it has "rethought" its plan to cut power to hundreds of customers during the inauguration of Barack Obama.
Residents near the area of Stabler Lane and Queens Avenue had been notified that utility work would require their power to be cut between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Dianne Metcalf was planning to stay home and watch the inauguration with her family and said she spent several days trying to convince a scheduling supervisor the timing of the utility work was terrible.
"It's something I have followed for two years," Metcalf said. "As an American, I want to watch it live on TV."
News10 contacted PG&E to ask about the inaugural day utility work and a supervisor in Marysville quickly responded.
