It's an urban/immigrant tradition to bring coffee cake to someone's house when invited over for morning coffee.

"Elites" like the Bush cabal probably don't comprehend this.

There are some ordinary working class courtesies that we lose sight of as time goes by ... things that were common in the 50s but lost to the franchising of Amurika.

For example, it's conventional in the Norwegian-American working class for someone (usually women) to recognize their own birthday by having a morning coffee and inviting friends and family ... and offering an array of cakes and cookies. Gifts are NOT expected. It's a time of quiet enjoyment and friendship.

... I can only say that I WISH I'd been worthy of finding that 'special someone' even half as tremendous as her. She demonstrates so MANY personal attributes that I find attractive it's incredible. I don't recall anyone that's so impressed me in politics ... except perhaps Barbara Jordan.
