1. My wife and I were in Cancun during the 2001 inauguration, having planned the trip months before,
with no thought of the inauguration.

It was the last vacation we've been able to take, and I know there are millions of folks just like us.
In fact, our business was on schedule to be paid off by 2008, and things were pretty good. Today, we have 58 more months on the note, having had to refinance twice. Thanks GW.

If the Bush Administration and friends get away with what they've stolen, and it appears they probably will, it'll be the crime of the century.

2. And the world had no idea
just how pitiful the * administration would become or just how much pain they would cause in the world. It will forever be a stain on American history that this bunch got another four years to continue their horror show in '04.

8. The 2004 election was the sickest I've ever been in my life.
When I left work Kerry was in good shape, had a couple of beers on the way home, turned down my street and a black cat crossed in front of me (never seen the cat before or since). Not a good sign.

9. I was in the egging section
Trust me, it was GREAT!

I never felt such satisfaction as when I saw *'s limo being slimed with eggs and tomatoes.

10. Remember this -
The Washington Post, and none of the local TV stations, reported the eggings. They reported the whole event as if it were routine, unaffected.

That was when I cancelled my Post subscription of almost thirty years. Never regretted it, never missed it.

5. Its good you said "widely" rather than "wildly"
Because it was a very odd thing, right from the start Bush was wildly supported by some but as you so accurately point out he was not widely celebrated.

11. Imaginary participation for a fake Residency?
Shit, I live within walking distance and never considered it.

This one? Too damn crowded. The trains have been backed up since they began running at 3:30 this a.m.. Though I would like to be counted, it's just too big to make a difference at this point.

If I lived close. And to buy the Obama stuff.
