So I'm thinking our country's long national nightmare is over. And I google the term to go back and read Ford's speech (hey, what can I say... I'm bored)

And I find this article from January 21, 2001 in the Onion which quotes Bush as saying what is plans for America are:

Bush: 'Our Long National Nightmare Of Peace And Prosperity Is Finally Over'

January 17, 2001 | Issue 37•01

"We as a people must stand united, banding together to tear this nation in two," Bush said. "Much work lies ahead of us: The gap between the rich and the poor may be wide, be there's much more widening left to do. We must squander our nation's hard-won budget surplus on tax breaks for the wealthiest 15 percent. And, on the foreign front, we must find an enemy and defeat it."

2. And SNL back in 2000

November 4, 2000

Had it all. Natural disaster, crumbling infrastructure, war and the VP involved in a hunting accident.

7. I loved the last sentence.
Plans for Bush's funeral have been postponed indefinitely following an unexpected incident in which the president's corpse was sucked through an Air Force One jet engine.

9. To take a halfway turn...
I also like that comment from the Onion after last November's election:

"Black man given nation's worst job."

--- clearning up the giant mess made by Bush and his henchmen!

He needs all our help to do it!

10. They were way too optimistic, as it turns out.
Top 15%? We wish. Try top 1%.
