I know it's pointless to continue criticizing the Bush presidency, but last night something crossed my mind. For eight years we've been "Gaslighted." Anyone who's seen the movie "Gaslight" knows of which I speak.
We've been fed a constant stream of lies, and the Administration with the help of of its handmaiden corporate media, have implied that questioning those lies was tantamount to treason. Anyone not believing every load of crap spewed by the Bush cartel was somehow either crazy or anti American. They have stated that they create their own reality, facts be damned. And we the people have suffered because of this bizarre thinking.
The Administration of Perpetual Bullshit (AKA Bush Cartel) has done its damnedest to destroy our government as per the the wet dream of Grover Norquist. Their long list of offenses will no doubt be chronicled at some point. The cartel friendly Judges who have given them a pass will die off and be replaced with men and women who respect the law. They will make rulings that remove the veil of secrecy that has been imposed by those who willfully laid this nation low for personal gain.
At noon today, Barack Obama will officially become our 44th President. That is when we as a nation will begin the national cleansing required after eight years of filthy lies and immoral behavior from a failed dictator, or as he likes to think of himself, Unitary Executive.
The torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans. Let's hope it leads the way out of the shadow of the new Dark Ages cast on us by a criminal cartel. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the new Enlightenment.
So when the curtain comes down on "The Decider," and a new one rises today, I'll be sipping champagne and singing Woody Guthrie's anthem "This Land Is your Land" with gusto and a tear in my eye. Yes we can. Yes we will. Yes we must.
