I can see it as an ethics violation possibly leading to dismissal and loss of certification but prison time? :shrug:

I would love to see them try that with a 21 year old grad student, and an 18 year old undergrad, for example.

This is a lot of hoopla over one case of a high school teacher having had sex with an 18 year old student. It has already been pointed out that there are plenty of policies in place about this, and the school is within it's rights if they fire the teacher, but the law can't do anything.
