Fixing Everything Could Actually Come Easy For Obama
Edited on Mon Jan-19-09 07:32 PM by stopbush
Everybody is saying how difficult it is going to be to clean up Jr's mess, but I have a feeling that Obama may surprise us all and get things done a lot faster and a lot cleaner than everyone imagines. If his campaign is any indicator, Obama floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. Why would it be different now that he's in office with unparalleled support in Congress and the country?

People are making the mistake of imagining Obama in the same light as they would a typical politician or the incompetence of the outgoing administration.

The truth is that Obama may be able to come into the darkened room and say, "all you need to do is to flip THIS switch and the lights come on."

This is what the Rs are really dreading - the fact that any politician with an ounce of sense can trip lightly through the landmine scenario that bush (and the Rs) have created in the country. This ultimately hurt Clinton, who also made it look easy. The country got complacent with all the peace and prosperity, and fat, happy and stupid Americans had the luxury of fixating on irrelevant things like intern-gate and blowing them into full scale infernos.

After Bush I, it was amazing just how quickly and completely Clinton (who - like Obama - was as exceptional politician) turned things around. I think the same thing will happen with Obama. If we're smart, we'll develop a narrative that expresses this reality and that kicks ass on any future RW attempts at seizing power.

4. Clue! Ken Blackwell said Obama's job-creation program would be bad
for republics because it would look like, well, that Dem's could create jobs and republics send jobs to timbuctu for corporate profit.

9. I think the support Obama has will help hasten the work...
Clinton never enjoyed such popularity and I think he had a much larger target on his back, too. Fortunately, Obama doesn't have the obstacles that Clinton had when he went into office.
