BWAAHAHAA! All That Experience and No Place to Go....
GOP Appointees Scramble for the Few Washington Jobs in a Tough Economy

The ranks of the nation's unemployed are swelling this week.

As President-elect Barack Obama's team transitions into the federal government tomorrow, President Bush's political appointees will be locked out, and in these tough economic times many of them are scrambling to find new jobs. High-ranking White House loyalists have deluged Washington headhunters with pleas for jobs. Corporations and nonprofit organizations have stopped hiring. With the GOP out of power, jobs on Capitol Hill are scant and K Street lobbying firms have trimmed their golden parachutes.

So this is the new reality: Instead of boasting to friends and colleagues of new jobs in goodbye e-mails, many longtime Bush aides have offered home phone numbers and Gmail and Yahoo e-mail addresses as their new contacts.

"For Republicans, the inn is full," lamented veteran GOP operative Ron Kaufman, a close White House adviser to former president George H.W. Bush and an executive at Dutko Worldwide. "You have lots of folks in the House and Senate on the streets and 3,000 administration appointees on the streets at a time when the job market is shrinking anyways. It's just not a fun time."

12. Don't forget the Repuke "intellectuals" (oxi-moron alert)
There are always those right wing "think" tanks where they can collect corporate well-fare $$$$$ while scheming for future dirty work.

(Well, that's what I learned from that 1977 Star Wars movie... the one from 2003 was just a big video game on a 40' screen.)

9. Who would they lobby?
You think the Democrats will listen to them? Remember Democrats are in the Majority now...Companies want to hire lobbyists that can be effective and I doubt that would be ex Republican hacks..

14. If you were a major company that wanted to do business with the Federal Government
Who would you hire? A Republican outcast that was despised by the Majority Party or a Democrat that gets along well with the other Democrats in Power. I can not see much of a future for Republicans in the lobbying business for the immediate future anyway. If you want to do business with the current makeup of the Government you better try and get along with those in Power. You don't do that by hiring some Republican hate monger...Just my opinion of course but I try and think logically about it..

3. Well, they give themselves raises all the time, claiming they need to feed their families...
While signing bills allowing offshoring and other stuff that not only deprives capable working Americans of jobs, but of income to pay taxes* on. Never mind the thrill of fear that EVERYBODY is experiencing right now.

* that's their wages

So, forgive me:

:nopity: :nopity: :nopity: :nopity: :nopity: :nopity: :nopity: :nopity:

What most of them have done have almost destroyed what they claimed they love.

7. "It's just not a fun time"
Golly, who would have ever thought that the Mayberry Machiavellis, Masters of the Universe, would ever be victims of their own policies? The American Enterprise Institute and Heritage Foundation can only provide so many sinecures. Who will step up to the plate to make sure that the overprivileged aren't subject to the damage they so wantonly inflicted on the rest of the nation? Will no one save them from being hoisted on their own petard?

It is to . . . well, not weep, that's for fucking sure.

11. Guys, if you shoot yourself in the foot
don't complain to me that you're limping.

Excuse me if the milk of human kindness has gone sour.

If these folks ever wake up and realize their dogma is crap and they got bamboozled by a bunch of old predatory rich folks, then maybe I'll summon a few tears for their needing to live on what they stole over the last 8 years.

Then again, maybe not.
