Obama just dismissed the press so he could continue to work
When Bush was doing public service photo-ops he stuck around just long enough for the press to get some pictures, then he split the scene. Obama is going to stay there and work (he's painting walls at a shelter for teens). He just told the press they had enough and it was time for them to go, and he's heading to another room to do more work.

1. Are you somehow suggesting "The Torture pResident" was not sincere
That maybe all he cared about was the Photo Op?

2. man, he is so no bullshit. :) if that doesn't make one respect him, I don't know what will.
I mean, think about it, the guy is going to be president of the United States tomorrow and he's painting walls at a shelter today!!!

each year I make, what I call, a realistic new years resolution. Things that I can actually do, instead of filling my brain with theater of the absurd.

This years resolution is to volunteer more.

I'm so inspired to give back because of Obama. I mean, he breaks his ass, why can't I? no more excuses.

my neighborhood, my city, my state, my nation needs me to help. It is the very least I can do when I see our future president volunteering just before the most important day of his life. :)

Thank Mr. Obama you have truly inspired me.

8. And he's about to have lunch with some kids who had no idea
they would be lunching with the Obama's - the kids are volunteers making blankets for injured troops - way too cool.

I hope Palin and Rudy of 9/11 now understand the value of the Community Organizer

3. That is great - and true to form.
I think one of the best compliments I've heard from a republican who met him is that he is exactly as you'd expect. Obama does not put on airs; there is nothing phony about him.

4. That was Peggy Noonan who said that..
he's clearly charmed just about everybody in Washington. Only low-class trash like Ann Coulter are trashing him at this point.

5. Yes, it was her.

Gene Robinson said he spent some time with Obama 2 years ago before the campaign started and just recently had the opportunity to meet with him again. Obama is the same man as when he started; not affected by the 'celebrity' of the being elected president at all. These minor little comments speak volumes to the man's character. Those still trashing him are bitter and small-minded.

17. Yeah, and George Bush did not become a prick when he took office...
He was like that all his life.

My point is that Obama is real and will be no less so as president.

11. I love this man!
Compare this to Bush. Does anyone remember the clip of * picking up a box for a couple of seconds, flashbulbs going off, and then he puts it down and walks out of the room? Letterman played it every day for ages!

21. And what, pray tell, is Bu$h doing today?
Oh, that's right: wallowing in self pity, whining about how misunderstood he is, and how no one appreciates his "legacy".

I am not going to miss that pitiful waste of a human incarnation one little bit.
