4. "You sound like one of those kooks at democraticunderground
who are consistently calling for conservatives to be rounded up and summarily executed." Seems that "Jim" had some paranoia issues. I read your excellent ltte twice and can't find a trace of any connection between what you wrote and what "Jim" responded.

"Jim" buddy, if you're reading this thread here on kooky old Democratic Underground, my personal opinion is you should be rounded up and summarily educated in logic and reason. But enough about old "Jim".
_______________

Fine letter you wrote there! Thanks for sharing it.

5. PS. I added a comment.
We'll see if it actually gets posted to the page. Here it is, in case it doesn't appear there:

"My sympathies about having to share space on the planet with some of the troglodytes who weighed in above.

Fortunately, their hegemony is over. They're already irrelevant backwash. They're just not smart enough to realize it."

7. I hear ya.
I like a lively debate personally, but these people don't have real opinions. They only have stale Heritage Foundation talking points and Rush-inspired reactions to everything. Can't debate with someone who has no critical thinking skills. These people obviously don't.

8. Patiotism does not equal hatred
It is possible to love America without blind hatred for whomever we are having problems with. Anyone coming over here to read these comments in order to flame this wonderful lady should remember that MLK was hated by patriotic people all over the country for his views on war and repression. He felt that all people should work together for a more peaceful world. He was called a commie and worse by many people simply because he was against dropping bombs on innocent people in the name of America. In short he was called everything that some of replies said about w8liftinglady. Anyone who claims to respect Dr. King and then go on to deride this article is a liar, they respect nothing but fear and death. If he were alive today he would be on the no-fly list and these same people would be calling for his neck in a noose.

Great article, great lady.

11. l'stte @ the bee are more concise; 1 para, 2 maybe 3 depending or...
as a rule-of-thumb and we got big-ass problems here in Cali. Your's seems as though you're attempting to *blog* into The Waxahachie Daily Light. Which may be what is anticipated in your area which is fine, still...

Musing upon what Martin Luther would have done or would be doing; with some points clearly/certainly agreeable, seems heavy-handed for a ltte i.e. "Dr. King would have been active in the discussion of the crimes committed by Wall Street financiers that have resulted in the economic crisis today."

Though with the current RW tack being; and not suggesting that it is right in that it is wrong still & nonetheless being that the American economy has contracted the world economy beyond due to the efforts of ACORN and others to deliver loan & mortgage instruments into specific financially challenged demographics; that Martin would be rather pulled into discussions touching upon actions & practices of not just wall street financiers, etc, and as witness see what is being driven with respect to Franklin Raines & Fannie Mae.

Maybe next round go a bit further and request inclusion into the opinion section
