The end of an error! By far the worst president in our history - is now history.
As Bush leaves office and the government and the people start undoing the damage that Bush has wrought, it should be kept in mind that there is more to heal than the usual suspects. The economy, the wars, our world standing, the environment, etc., because the last eight years have also stirred the passions of the crazies.

People who were apolitical and apathetic became passionate in during the last few years about their beliefs. That holds true for the left and the right. But, while some started reading news from all over and well-researched books, others did all their studying by watching Fox News and listening to the likes of Rush Limbaugh. They memorized talking points and never spent a minute questioning the logic of their viewpoint. Everything they needed to know about global warming could be learned by looking out their bedroom window - and none of those fancy studies could dissuade them from what they knew. And although there was never one day where the phrase “We’ll fight them over there so we don’t have to fight them over here,” made sense in the context of Iraq, there are still those repeating it.

Their fanatical defense of the ludicrous is part of what’s been termed as Bush’s War on Reality. This, like the other gifts Bush has given the country, will keep on giving. Just hopefully not for too long. Now, when reading someone defending Bush or the war in Iraq, it’s akin to reading the impassioned defense of syphilis by a true believer. And when people say, “He kept us safe for eight years!” I not only point out that, no he didn’t, 9/11/01 was on his watch, I also continue with their logic and give him credit for keeping the plague at bay all these years.

They don’t have a leg to stand on, but the Bush supporters are still out there, questioning the patriotism and sanity of those that don’t see it their way. The good news is that there are fewer and fewer of them every year, and the election of Barack Obama proved the country has moved forward a good deal in the last four years. And just like Bush, his War on Reality will not be missed.

5. The operative words are "by far" for there is no one standing by as a worthy runner-up: junior is
in a class by himself. Only those who continued to support, shill for, and/or aid and abet the man and his neocon wet dream of perpetual pre-emptive war(s) of aggression, death, destruction, and pillage when all this was known to all literate folks in the world are worse Americans imv. :P

8. junior took an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, but piece, by piece, tore it
asunder. It is maybe not his fault that he could not uphold his oath of office, but he was president, not emperor, and the moment he began to not preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, the Congress, the courts, the MSM, the general public could have been on him like ugly on an ape and stopped him in his tracks. But the supine and venal Congress, including far too many Dems, aided and abetted, most of the MSM shilled for, the courts stood by doing virtually nothing, and countless tens of millions of Americans continued to support the man and his neocon PNAC RW wet dream and I estimate just the monetary damage to our nation alone at +/- $10 trillion. But in the eyes of the true-believer, that is but a small price to pay for the joy of 'puke rule. :P

7. K & R. How true, I'm going to use the line about the plague. It pisses me off when they
imply we were attacked every day before Bush.

I'm afraid my unabiding hatred is going to need a target and there just aren't that many worthy Republics left in DC.

We're going to be eating our own in no time flat.
