6. Why would you change your name? Only four reasons I can think of:

1) You piss people off on a regular basis.

2) You made an ass out of yourself during the Primary.

3) Part of your user name (red state, bush, cheney, etc.) will now seem outdated.

4) You never liked your user name in the first place.

For myself, I am Bicoastal and will be Bicoastal 'til the day I finally get tombstoned.

in the distant past, before the previous amnesty. I did it because it gave people the wrong impression about me (a name that was a little silly) and it was rather interesting to be perceived as a brand new member when I'd actually been posting for a year or so under the old name.

This is my first name and middle initial and it's quite fine into the indefinite future.

I didn't think carefully when I first joined DU, didn't care what I called myself, just wanted to be involved with this liberal sanctuary. But, after a couple weeks of being here, I noticed that the initials "BO" could be and was being used as a slur by "them" and I had regrets over the username and didn't want peeps here to think I was "one of those" because I wasn't.

Continuing my blah-blah-ramble-rambling...........

Funny - after I'd been here for a while, no one seemed to be bothered by it and those who thought perhaps I was "one of those" know better now (I hope). :rofl:
