"You may not agree with some tough decisions I have made, but I hope you can agree that I was willing to make the tough decisions," Bush said, according to excerpts of his prime-time speech released in advance by the White House.
I'm not willing to agree. I'm trying to think of what tough decision Bush made in the white house. Nope can't think of any. I guess it would help to look at the tough choices he could have made. Do something about global warming or do nothing about global warming. Bush did nothing. Do something about the lack of access to health care in the US or do nothing about the lack of access to health care in the US. Bush did nothing. Make tough choices on fiscal planning and tax rates to make sure the US had a balanced federal budget or not balance the federal budget. Bush chose not to do that. End two unpromising wars of aggression started then ignored by Bush or enact a policy that would make sure you wouldn't have to do anything and the war would pass on to the next president. Bush chose to let the next guy make the tough choice. Do nothing and let free markets ride wild all over the place or use regulators, tariffs and tough competent people (even if they don't agree to your political philosophy) in charge of the departments controlled directly or indirectly by the executive branch. Bush chose to do nothing and reward butt kissers. Basically when face with every single challenge of his presidency Bush did not make a tough choice. He did nothing and ignored the problem or worse passed some make shift corporatism back bill that in no way made the average Americans life better. Bush could have waited for say the UN inspectors in Iraq. A smart person would have done that. But Bush he started his war anyways. The tough decision would have been to wait until all the facts were in, a tough decision is to do the morally right thing and not torture and get a court order before wire tapping. In a free country doing things the right way is tougher than doing things the lazy thug way. Bush wasn't willing to do the tough thing. So I'm sorry Mr. Bush. You never made a tough decision in your life.
