Did the Vitter Shitter Critter give a reason for voting against Hillary's confirmation as SoS?

The fact that a pervered bastard like that is given any say in anything
makes the entire Senate thing a farce.

7. Yes, here:
http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?parm1=5&docID=news-000003011188

Sen. David Vitter , R-La., was the only member to vote against the nomination, and he did so by proxy. In a statement released before the vote, Vitter said, “Sen. Clinton is certainly a smart, capable colleague, and I take no pleasure in voting against her confirmation. But I must do so for one compelling reason. I believe President Clinton’s business and foundation dealings are a multi-million dollar minefield of conflicts of interest. And this could produce explosions at any minute, particularly concerning the Middle East where we least need them.”

8. Vitter - Clinton is morally unfit to govern
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/07/11/98-vitter-oped-calls-for_n_55724.html
<snip>
In the fall of 1998, David Vitter felt compelled to weigh in on the national debate over the possible impeachment of President Bill Clinton for lying about sex. Vitter was not yet a member of Congress; he was a Republican state representative. And in an October 29, 1998, opinion piece for the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Vitter took issue with a previous article, written by two law professors who had argued that impeachment "is a process of removing a president from office who can no longer effectively govern; it is not about punishment." Given that Clinton was still a capable chief executive, they had maintained, impeachment was not in order.

Vitter, a graduate of Harvard University and Tulane law school and a Rhodes scholar, was aghast at this amoral position. He blasted the law professors for criticizing those congressional Republicans pushing for Clinton's impeachment. Their argument that impeachment is "not primarily about right and wrong or moral fitness to govern," he wrote, was utterly wrongheaded.

Vitter Flashback: Clinton should resign.»

Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) first got his start in Congress after replacing former Rep. Bob Livingston (R-LA), who “abruptly resigned after disclosures of numerous affairs” in 1998. At the time, Vitter argued that an extramarital affair was grounds for resignation:

“I think Livingston’s stepping down makes a very powerful argument that Clinton should resign as well and move beyond this mess,” he said.

Extramarital affairs are also grounds for resignation. Using his own logic Vitter should have resigned ages ago. Fuck that hypocritical diaper-draped piece of shit.

12. A couple of his biggest backers hate both Bill and Hillary. He is able to go to Baton Rouge next
weekend and say he was the only person who stood up to the Clintons and obtain money from them.

13. Yep...This Is About The Benjamins
Diaper Boy knows he's got a target on his head and will need a lot of cash to "rehabilitate" his image. Nothing will bring in that cash with the wingnuts and freepers faster than being a real, live Clinton basher. This vote was all about the upcoming campaign donation letters that I'm sure are all but in the mail slot right now.

Cheers...

14. Only so that the vote was not unanimous
I'm sure that Vitter simply could not stand the idea that Hillary would receive a unanimous vote, so he voted against her.

Partisan politics are still alive and well.
