4. This Scandal is a Gift to Obama ....
... he should take it and dump Geithner.

We just don't need anymore insider, banking establishment people making decisions and policy.

6. His tax issues are a big deal and he needs to pay back taxes,
interest and penalties--enough of them to inform other rich chislers of the consequences of trying to stiff the help on social security.

They all do it, you know, every single cheap one of them.

However, I think we're all getting a little sick of nannygate and gardenergate and valetgate and butlergate.

Confirm him after he's paid up.

8. He forgot about something like 34K in taxes
and I don't know if he paid any penalties. If he can't understand the tax code, who can?

10. Geez.
I don't think the "big boys" like Geithner get audited very often or pay penalties.

12. Voted no, but not because of the tax issue
"Geithner, Summers and Orszag have all been followers of the economic formula that came to be called Rubinomics: balanced budgets, free trade and financial deregulation."

http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/11/24/business/rubin.php

"Free" trade and deregulation.
No thanks.

14. Me as well
There's a great article on AlterNet today about Citigroup and Geithner's lax regulatory policy towards them as NY Fed chair. Even if the actions taken by the Fed there are not reflective of his philosophy, it shows a failure to lead.

13. I don't believe what I'm hearing from Obama...
...a common mistake :( I thought his appointments would be of impeachable character. I never liked the appointment since Geithner was instramental in the bailout of the AIGs of the and, like Obama, supports the $350B giveaway to where? no one knows exactly.

I'll be eating a lot of well cooked crow today, as I've been telling the cynics around me that Obama will restore integrity to the White House.

16. The tax issue - seems too much an issue to be swept away.
Or how he could do something better, despite his cheating.
