Mitt Romney on CNBC: "I think Obama should EXTEND the Bush Tax Cuts."

:wtf:

They also had Meg Whitman and some other GOP minority whip nerdster on earlier spouting the same "businesses need access to capital (that's code for "make the tax cuts permanent")" schpiel.

Seriously, how SCREWN would this country have been if McClown/Palin won? When they passed out logic, were these idiots in the restroom?

1. Well as it is Sentiment in Washington is that Democrats need to accommodate Republican ideas
I assume that had Palin and McCain won, sentiment would be that, well, Democrats need to accommodate Republican Ideas.

8. I'm not in favor of it - just find it hilarious that when Republicans are strong
and step all over Democrats they are praised for their political acumen and strength, but when Democrats are in power, Washington Elites immediately declare that Democrats have to piss on their liberal supporters and play nice with the Republicans.

2. actually (and factually) things were quite nice through most of the 90s

Doesn't mean they were for YOU personally, but they were for me and my family and statistically for millions of other Americans.

7. They were nice for 6 years.
You know, unless you were a blue collar worker who used to produce and assemble things. Most of those people saw their plants close and move to Weng Zhou or Guadalawhothehellcares. But hey, they could always just get jobs as cashiers, greeters or box stuffers, right?

Ever see "The Big One"? It wasn't all peaches and cream for "millions", as you attest.

3. I'm so glad you posted this. I have been thinking the same thing.
I've heard nothing but criticism from these jerks and not one decent suggestion except the very same stuff that got us into this mess in the first place.

4. How hard is it to figure - low taxes means business take out cash
for bonuses, dividends and such.

High taxes means businesses have incentive to reinvest money in tax deductible things - like factories, equipment, R&D and employment.

11. And it doesn't even have to be HIGH taxes . . .
. . . what the hell would be so BAD about the top tax rate being a little bit above the Clinton-year levels? I don't even get how they could logically justify how something that would help trim the deficit while providing incentive for businesses to invest in their businesses instead of propping up a culture that fires workers while rewarding wealth and incompetence would be a bad thing.
