Christian Coalition Proclaims Itself Ready to Fight
The Christian Coalition has sent an email to its few remaining supporters, letting them know that everything they hold dear is under attack and that they should, of course, donate money to the organization so that it can prevent Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress from ruining America:

As we begin a new year and a new congress comes into session, pro-family conservatives must face a stark reality: the liberal onslaught is coming.

It is coming because extreme liberals look at the election results as their opportunity to solidify domination of our government and our culture … e know what they plan to do. It’s no secret. The only question is what will we do to stop them?

Liberals don’t want Christians like you and I to stand up and work together. They know how effective we can be when we speak with one voice. That’s why it is so vital that we work to educate and activate America’s Christian conservatives!

Stand with us as we work to prepare Christian conservatives to fight back against the assault on our values being waged in the halls of our government. But if you want to stand up for your beliefs, you simply must speak out … ow is not the time for us to despair and give up. There is too much at stake for conservatives to be caught on the sidelines.

1. Bring it on,
Mo Fo's! I'm hoping that the Republicans recognize it is these mindless fucks ruining their party and reject them so they'll form their own party.

6. What we do not want, however
if for the religious right to come do to our Party what they are just now finishing with the Republicans. I agree, let them form their own Party. But let us not alter ours to please them.

10. They won't come over to our side.
If anything, they'll break away and start their own Evangelical Party. At which time, and I say this as a good progressive, if the Democrats keep shoving us to the back of the bus, I think it would be an ideal time for the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party to think about breaking off and starting the Progressive Party.

14. I disagree
I see Kaine, Leah Daughtry, Rick Warren, all as point people for those who want to take the Party to a revival meeting. I don't worry so much about the actual members becoming Democrats, as I do about the powers in our Party coveting that power and seeking to fold them into our own. Some seem to think that is possible, and seem to not worry about losing the more progressive parts of the Party to do it.
Socially, Kaine and I have nothing in common at all. He's a religionist bigot in my book, and he heads this Party now. Do you think he's going to seek out heathen or folks like himself, who hold dogma in common? He is anti-gay and anti-choice. Who's he going to be looking to add? Who will he not care if he loses?
What details can you offer in terms of specific reasons that you don't think we have to worry about that?

15. Kaine is not the Democratic Party.
He's but one of many.

And Rick Warren is never going to become a Democrat.

I don't know who Leah Daughtry is, but as long as the Democratic Party believes that gay people are just as human as everyone else, and that women have the right to control their own bodies, the religious right is never going to join the Democratic Party, and despite Kaine and Warren, I see no reason to believe the Democratic Party is going to abandon its principles on gay rights and abortion.

16. I hope the fundamentalcases actually take over the GOP
That will marginalize the party even further, and that can't be a bad thing. Moderate repukes will shift their allegiance to the Democratic Party, further ensuring its success.

Let the fundamentalcases yammer away.

7. Liberals don't want Christians like you and ME, thank you
But of course this is incorrect, and not only with the grammar part. Liberals want everyone to live and let live--which is what I always took to be the core of the teachings of Jesus. Guess these conservatives are following some other prophet.

8. I don't want insane lunatics like them breeding either
They're just determined to drag everyone else down into their little rat hole whith them.

I wish they'd take a page from survivalists.
Build their little shelter, lock themselves inside it and wait for the rapture.

We believe in the Constitution, including the right to assembly.

13. Translation - "We're flat broke and worried about this economy. Please
be afraid and send lots of bucks so we can maintain our lifestyles"

Aren't these the same folks always saying God has a plan - then assuming whatever is going on in the world isn't part of that plan and that their all powerful God needs them to fix it?

19. They're still in business?
Maybe I was thinking of Freedom Watch, which has apparently gone down the tubes. The Christian Coalition might still be hanging on by its fingernails.
