Marietta Police: 40 potential victims in child sex case

MARIETTA, Ohio (AP) -- Police in Marietta say they have identified about 40 potential victims of a man arrested in a child-sex investigation.

Daniel A. Keck II was arrested Friday after a 14-year-old boy contacted police.

Since then, six people have reported being sexually abused by Keck. All were age 14 or younger at the time of the alleged abuse.

Marietta police Capt. Jeff Waite says detectives have identified 40 potential victims dating to the 1990s.

The 42-year-old Keck is being held in the Washington County jail on charges of felony rape, kidnapping and pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor.
