Woman missing from WA Ferry, picture and story...
I read another article that she teaches in Seattle.

http://blog.seattlepi.nwsource.com/seattle911/archives/159492.asp
he search for a woman who is missing from a Tuesday night run of the Seattle-Bainbridge ferry was suspended at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday – about 14 hours after 45-year-old Lynn Stafford-Yilmaz of Bellevue was last seen. Ferry workers found Stafford-Yilmaz's purse and keys on an upper deck, and her van was left on the 10:55 p.m. ferry from Seattle.

"We searched for 13 hours and saturated the search area of Bainbridge Island, Colman dock and areas north, south, west and east of those points," Coast Guard Lt. Ron Owens said. The search was suspended because rescuers found no leads in the search area. The search included a Coast Guard helicopter and crew from Port Angeles and a Coast Guard boat from Seattle.

Seattle police and firefighters, and the Bainbridge marine unit also helped in the search....

2. I actually hope it's a hoax...
The water temp this time of year is about 45. No chance for anyone in the water.

4. Hi neighbor, I was hoping some more WA people might see this.
I know it's only 1 person, but getting the info out seems like a good thing to do.

10. There's a plaque on one of the ferries for rescuing some kayakers who capsized
They were in the water for 10-15 minutes and had hypothermia by the time the ferry spotted them and got them out of the water. And it was JUNE.

8. How could this happen?
On the upper deck, one would have to work pretty hard to fall over the side.
There have been too many of these incidents lately.

9. Update, not sure if she was in van (surveillance tapes)=foul play?
http://www.komonews.com/news/local/37623254.html
The missing woman whose car and belongings were found aboard a ferry late Tuesday night may never have been on the ferry, the Washington State Patrol said.

After reviewing surveillance footage, detectives said they're not certain Lynn Stafford-Yilmaz was the one who drove her car onto the ferry.

Troopers said Stafford-Yilmaz, 45, was initially believed to have boarded the state ferry Puyallup on the Seattle-to-Bainbridge run about 11 p.m. When the ferry docked at Bainbridge Island, ferry workers found her abandoned Ford Windstar van parked at the front of the ferry.

Investigators initially did not suspect foul play but, after reviewing the video, said they are no longer certain. ...

11. Interesting. That was my gut feeling when I heard the story on the radio.
That she didn't fall overboard.
