I can't wait for Tuesday. How about you?
I plan to crack open the celebratory bottle of Midleton, pour a couple of fingers, and toast the end of the darkest era in the modern history of my country and the dawn of a new hopeful time.

What are your plans to celebrate?

4. I took the day off.
I really do have an awesome boss who will let me have any day off I wish. I want to go to a good Seattle bar with friends and family later that day to celebrate with people who've been waiting for this day for years. Every day I'm more and more excited for the 20th to come. It's more excruciating than Christmas when I was 10. It is going to be a phenomenal day.

7. I still get goosebumps thinking about this country electing an African-American President.
I'll probably be celebrating alone though. My usual politics buddies are all working that night, and my kids (who are far more radical than I am) are at school or with their mom.

5. Next Tuesday will be the beginning of a new (hard won) hopefully
lingering era of peace, prosperity, hard-work.

We are not "there" yet, however.

11. Yes, it will be (a long hard job)
Let's "do it right"....I'm up for the challenge. And for once, in a VERY LONG EIGHT YEARS I'm looking forward to having a "Leader" who owns that position by a democratic election. A leader who seems to have heart, spirit.....oh, I'm looking forward to these next several years! Challenges and all!

9. Next Tuesday will be absolutely amazing.
I wish I could be there in DC but alas I couldn't find a flight or hotel, or enough cash to cover the two.

Sensitive subject tonight. LOL

10. We're having a community based party
starting at 9am, big screen TVs to watch the inauguration and parade and campaign highlights. We're having live bands and a DJ, dancing is scheduled for after dinner but I'm betting it starts with Obama's "...so help me God."
