Have any other President and Vice President been on such a
campaign to attempt to spin their legacy like these two war criminals?
This PBS interview with the dick is unbelievable. Dick is hoping we forget.

2. Regan had some redeeming qualities
Though I disagreed completely with his philosophy, at least he said what he meant, and meant what he said.

But these clowns? :puke:

5. I disagree. Reagan said what he read and read what he said.
A huge amount of the crap he spewed came from some script he read. (Including, "I paid for this microphone!")

8. I never saw any. He lied every time he spoke, and was more hateful than Bush.
Bush is just stupid and passively evil. Reagan was actively evil. The only reason he didn't spend his final years in prison was because Bush Daddy pardoned everyone who could have sent him to jail for treason and war crimes. Bush just makes me want to forget him. Reagan still makes me want to dig up his filthy corpse and stomp it into powder. And the results of his presidency weren't any better than Bush's, he just had a better PR campaign to clean it all up.

13. tell that to the striking air traffic controllers he fired....all 11,345 of them
he busted their union and fired them

On August 3, 1981 the union declared a strike, seeking better working conditions, better pay and a 32-hour workweek. In doing so, the union violated a law {5 U.S.C. (Supp. III 1956) 118p.} that banned strikes by government unions. However, several government unions (including one representing employees of the Postal Service) had declared strikes in the intervening period without penalties. Ronald Reagan, however, declared the PATCO strike a "peril to national safety" and ordered them back to work under the terms of the Taft-Hartley Act of 1947. Only 1,500 of the more than 13,000 of the controllers returned to work. However Reagan gave union members 48 hours to return, knowing that Transportation Secretary Drew Lewis had secretly trained replacements. The airplanes kept flying at 80% of normal.
On August 5, following their refusal, Reagan fired the 11,345 striking air traffic controllers who had ignored the order,<3><4> and banned them from federal service for three years (which was later rescinded by the President). They were replaced initially with nonparticipating controllers, supervisors, staff personnel, some nonrated personnel, and in some cases by controllers transferred temporarily from other facilities. Some military controllers were also used until replacements could be trained. The union was decertified on October 22, 1981.<2>

22. Mine too..I recently read a book..
about the political assassination of a Bishop in Guatemala after the war. The writer chronicled the story of the long difficult investigation that went on for years, the death of witnesses, the absence of any kind of legitimate news source in reporting the facts,..and that even while though was a newly elected government, very little had changed. The same right-wingers that had been in power, and were responsible for the bloodshed were also tied up in the assassination. At the same time there was some international group in the country attempting to document the atrocities that had occurred during the war..but with no aim of any kind of prosecution, yet still people were not interested in pursuing justice..out of fear, out of a wish to put it behind them, and because they lacked the knowledge of what was really going on. It reminded me very much of what is happening here, but in a tiny country that had been immersed in bloodshed.

14. Here's the Rude Pundit 's take on all these BS interviews
http://rudepundit.blogspot.com/
<snip>
Because We Won't Have Him to Kick Around Much Longer, Part 7 (Alibi Edition):
You been watching these exit interviews with Bush and Cheney? These fuckers are scared. Something's got them worried and they're acting like low-rent hit men captured by the FBI, coming up with alibis and excuses faster than ex-guards at Auschwitz. The Rude Pundit can't figure out exactly what it is, but there's something spooking these two so that when anyone asks them about torture or Gitmo, they do a justification dance that's like Express Yourself Day at the spastic children's home.

Look at them go: here's Cheney, as ever, breathing and grunting like he's fucking a trussed up adolescent Thai boy who'll be killed after the Vice President blows his load on the boy's back, talking to the drippy pile of dogshit that is Bill Bennett about our Cuban day spa: "The other key thing that people forget is that we've got a couple hundred very bad actors down there. We've been through, several times, a scrub of the population in Guantanamo. And a good many more have been returned than we still hold, have been returned to their home countries. Now, out of that group, some number has, in fact, gone back onto the battlefield against us." That number, by the way, is 18, according to the Pentagon, with 43 "suspected" of returning to terrorism. And let us ponder, and why not, how many of those were transformed into "terrorists" by their experience with American justice.

placing W's* work in a 50 year vault the way W did for Poppy. (Most likely hiding Bush 41's Iran Contra dealings.)

20. If they don't shut down their Baghdad Bob traveling show
there will be no choice but to try them for war crimes. They can't stop admitting to them, it would seem like they'd at least shut the fuck up about this aspect of their "legacy".
