Franken asks Minn. high court to grant certificate

ST. PAUL (AP) — Democrat Al Franken is headed to court to demand he get a Senate election certificate after failing to get one from Minnesota's governor and secretary of state.

The petition he is filing Tuesday with the Minnesota Supreme Court seeks to force Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Democratic Secretary of State Mark Ritchie to issue the signed certificate. His campaign asked both officials for the document on Monday. But they said state law doesn't allow them to deliver one until a lawsuit filed by Republican Norm Coleman is settled.

2. Yes, they need to get on with this one.
Put Coleman in his proper place - the unemployment line
and seat Franken in the senate.
