Vote to keep wingnut blog from winning "Best Science Blog"
This is a cut-and-paste from Daily Kos...

The blog "Watt's Up With That" is a climate change denial site, puffed into prominence by constant attention from right wing pundits like Rush and Billy. Thanks to the loving tongue baths delivered from those sources, the site has gotten enough attention to make it to the final rounds of the Weblog Awards for Best Science Blog:

Do the Weblog Awards amount to a hill of beans? No, not to anyone paying the least bit of attention. The trouble is, outside of the blog community that's not so evident. If this bullshit site wins the award, it'll be screamed from every right wing media outlet in the land. "The best science blog on the web shows there's nothing to climate change! Al Gore is a liar!" It's also exactly the kind of attention that will net the bozo in charge of the place thirty seconds to talk on radio and television spots across the country. The Weblog Award for best science blog may be stupid, but letting it crown an anti-science fanatic can have real detrimental consequences.

So while Rush and Bill and Rupert are all waiting to cheer when voting ends this afternoon, you can do something about it. Go to the site and vote for another choice (PZ Meyer's excellent blog Pharyngula is in second place at the moment, so it's a good place to put your vote. Check it out at http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/

You may have noticed a recent influx of whining wackaloons, whose enchanting cries have consisted mostly of "You're all so uncivil" and "This is not a science blog". This is fallout from the Weblog Awards, where a couple of climate change denialist blogs have effectively turned out the disgruntled conspiracy theorist vote. One of those blogs will almost certainly win the 'award' — which tells you the value of these contests — so don't worry about that. However, I do want to reply to the mindless, repetitive complaints of our new visitors, even though they will almost certainly evaporate when the award voting closes later today.
