I went and done it...
This morning, while running a few errands before heading to work, I stopped at the county clerk's office, and changed my party affiliation on my voter registration from unaffiliated to Democratic.

A small token, but hey, now I get to vote in primaries & such!!!

5. Congratulations!
I too am fortunate enough to have open elections in my state. No party declaration needed for primaries.

6. I switched affiliation to Democratic in 1969, and have never regretted it yet.
I think the Democratic party is the last best hope for restoring freedom and the Constitution to this land. The last six years have been pretty scary, but now with control of Congress and great prospects for winning the White House in '08 the party now has the power to turn everything around.
