If you Are Not Christian You Are Going To Die says CO Gunman
Edited on Fri Jan-09-09 06:03 PM by EV_Ares
BOULDER — Derik Bonestroo's confrontation with fellow workers at Eldora Mountain Resort appeared to be a well-planned scheme to kill co-workers who were not Christian, according to investigators from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

Bonestroo's "demeanor and tactical style clothing" had all the indications that the 24-year-old Bonestroo carefully planned the face-to-face showdown, according to documents filed Wednesday in Boulder District Court.

One of the employees at the meeting, April Wilson, told investigators that Bonestroo walked in dressed in black, carrying a gun, and fired into the ceiling, according to the documents.

He then declared: "If you're not Christian, you're going to die," Wilson said.

26. Religion never ends well....period.
Please don't regale me with stories of charitable acts or any other warm-fuzzy bullshit. You don't need religion to know that helping your fellow man is necessary, or killing is wrong. Religion is just a way to divide, control, confuse. Stop with the primitive superstitions already! Grow up, humanity.

So you used a blanket statement. Then you turn around and dismiss any exception to your generalization as "warm fuzzy bullshit." I'm not trying to start some kind of flame war or anything, just pointing out a small flaw in your statement.

They believe that Catholics are not born again, so they're aren't saved. And you're not a Christian unless you're saved, according to THEM.

15. The guy was mentally ill. Christianity was his "crutch".
What passes for Christianity today put hate in his mind and he acted out on it. What little religious teaching I got in Sunday School before I stopped attending church stressed that God was all about loving your brother, taking care of the sick and needy and peace. Too bad he listened to Robertson/Hagee/Falwell, et al and embraced their type of Christianity.

20. NO he was NOT MENTALLY ILL
He was a TRUE BELIEVER type. A fanatic.A sheep in love with his hateful god..

Mentally ill people are not psychopaths because psychopaths know what they do is evil and they don't care.

The guy was a fanatic true believer, like someone in a CULT.Remember Jim Jones? Culties can kill in religious fervor.

For many people, the will to believe at times overrides the ability to think critically about the evidence for and against a belief.

"no amount of logic can shatter a faith consciously based on a lie."

The fanatic is perpetually incomplete and insecure. He cannot generate self-assurance out of his individual resources -- out of his rejected self -- but finds it only by clinging passionately to whatever support he happens to embrace. This passionate attachment is the essence of his blind devotion and religiosity, and he sees in it the source of all virtue and strength.... He easily sees himself as the supporter and defender of the holy cause to which he clings. And he is ready to sacrifice his life.

Hoffer also seemed to think that true believers want to give up all personal responsibility for their beliefs and actions. They want to be free of the burden of freedom.

http://skepdic.com/truebeliever.html

And Jail or a grave would give this true believer waving a gun around his heart's desire...

25. Ummm you just said he was a true believer
Edited on Fri Jan-09-09 08:19 PM by undergroundpanther
You Said it right here "He was searching for guidance and found the wrong source."

Tell me what than, is the CORRECT source? Do you know? Is it christ, thoth or Buddha or ___?? Tell me, oh wise on what is the correct source?

There is no correct source!!

He was searching for guidance outside himself as if it could tell him how to be happy....hmm why did he think he needed to be guided? Was he insecure about guiding himself perhaps, wanted someone else to tell him how to do it, or do it for him to feel some relief through religious manufactured certainty? Was it like a drug fix, that without it, you just feel bad?
Sounds to me he was searching to relieve his inner uncertainty & insecurity..Seeking something to guide him,to lift his burdens(freedom and responsibility)from him..

You say,"He found the wrong source"..Yeah you can say that because you see the end results not the process that got him there, the hope that baited him in and the fear that locked him into that belief long before he ever considered shooting people.

Apparently he thought he had found the right source to feel certain enough about what 'god' wanted him to do,to threaten non-christians with a gun.
He was a TRUE believer.

Same thing happened with Jim Jones's cult they were all good normal people searching for guidance in times of trouble, and wound up finding the wrong source too.
And there were 1,000 people or so dead, and a senator and who knows how many children were poisoned by their own mothers,to please"god" and escape the wiles of "satan's minions" coming to get them.
They will never take responsibility for the crimes they did.

All cults and religions prey upon insecure and uncertain people burdened by life freedom and responsibility..seeking a way out..of how they feel, first comes hope than comes fear, fantasy and worse uncertainty fueling a catch 22 that drives true believers to defend the faith at any cost.

You are sympathetic to him, why? You a christian?

at that place this asshole worked at had a gun and took out that fundie asshole's kneecaps. It would have been a good deed done.
Because he would have ran right into a boundary you can't attempt to kill people for not being christians and expect those non-christians to not fight back. And the sting of humiliation and the fact he would be unable to walk incapacitates his ability to harm somewhat.

I hate fanatic christian nazi pigs. If they think winning the culture war THEY instigate every chance they get, means killing non -christians, it will cause a LOT of blowback. And for me FINALLY seeing these hateful, rabid, christian nazis sociopaths put in their place, a.k.a.jails and graves, would be just fine with me..They start the culture war,WE will end it and them.

24. I blame, Ann Coulter, Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage and others like them that spread
hate and fear against liberals and democrats and the media that allows them to use them as a podium to do it. There are people like this character that takes this preaching of hate and fear and thinks he is doing the right thing to go out and eradicate it.

The stuff that Coulter and Limbaugh preach is dangerous for these kinds of people. I know most of the people don't absorb it to the extent that some as this guy do but it only takes one as in this case.

He butchered his own cat right before he went on his rampage and left the bloody remains

33. Sociopath
Edited on Fri Jan-09-09 08:44 PM by undergroundpanther
Butchering animals is what alot of sociopaths do until they get the nerve to kill some people.

Some sociopaths hide this butchering habit for years from everyone. We all have read about serial killers that killed people, and hid the bodies for years and nobody else knew it.

So,it's not unusual for friends or family to be shocked to find out Johnny has been butchering puppies for kicks.Every stunned neighbor of a sociopath caught and a horrible crime in his home, says "Oh he was such a nice fellow, quiet, neat."So it is easy to assume they"snapped" No people don't snap and kill after mutilating animals first. Sorry. That fucker is a sociopath. He deserves NO pity.

Sociopaths know what they do is wrong, but they do it anyway because they don't care about anything but getting a rush for them self, creating a scene.Creating fame. They do it deliberately for the kicks. They live for the'most dangerous game'.Perpetually bored they kill..

Sociopathy is NOT a mental illness,It is an Axis 2 diagnosis.
That has NOTHING to do with psychosis.
or Trauma.

So do not lump other real mental illnesses and psychiatric injuries in with sociopaths. Because sociopathy is NOT a thought disorder. To say that it is mental illness is an ignorant solipsist claim ,you can't imagine doing it..but the sociopath can and DOES.

Retardation is not curable or the symptom
helped by drugs or therapy,so, it is NOT mental illness or psychiatric injury...Neither are sociopaths curable. A Sociopath is what the person IS.

Imagine - if you can - not having a conscience, none at all, no feelings of guilt or remorse no matter what you do, no limiting sense of concern of the well-being of strangers, friends, or even family members. Imagine no struggles with shame, not a single one in your whole life, no matter what kind of selfish, lazy, harmful, or immoral action you had taken. And pretend that the concept of responsibility is unknown to you, except as a burden others seem to accept without question, like gullible fools. Now add to this strange fantasy the ability to conceal from other people that your psychological makeup is radically different from theirs. Since everyone simply assumes that conscience is universal among human beings, hiding the fact that you are conscience-free is nearly effortless. You are not held back from any of your desires by guilt or shame, and you are never confronted by others for your cold-bloodedness. The ice water in your veins is so bizarre, so completely outside of their personal experience that they seldom even guess at your condition.

39. sociopaths plan their kills for the effect
They will be friend an animal get it's trust and love than kill it.
They will show the imitative kindness to some others cruelty they play people to the hilt they mind fuck..

Whatever they need to do to get what they want. It's all a game.
Act depressed after the big show, for you are bored and want pity and to escape accountability.Hide the killing habits and be nice to animals in public so no one thinks YOU are why all the stray dogs and cats are missing.Changes in two months,..Either it's a brain tumor or the fucker is a psychopath.

They play a part so they can get what they want.
Once we trust someone,or think we know them the friendship becomes a blinder. And acts of cruelty can lie dormant for years,in sociopaths too.
