I need some help. Don't know how to deal with this.
I've seen a few of the President Elect's press conferences.
It's finally dawned on me that we're about to have a very intelligent president.
We're talking arguably genius level.

Now I know some really smart people who, although very cerebral, have trouble expressing themselves.

But this guy is downright eloquent as well as brilliant.
I mean he says things that make sense and that I can actually follow and understand.

For the last eight years I've gotten so used to tuning out a guy who apparently never had an original thought in his life (or much in the way of thoughts at all), and who mangles simple declarative sentences, that now it's hard for me to pay attention again.

I feel like the little old lady in the 'panic button' commercial.
"I've been dumbed down and I can't get up."

So I need help.
How can I get my brain back up to speed?
Pharmaceuticals?
Physical therapy?
Yoga?
Thank you.

1. When Obama speaks, be sure to tune in, enjoy, bask in the intellect that exudes.
You will be surprised at how quickly your brain will respond!

12. Yeah. I need to relax.
Just kinda let it all wash over me.
Just sit there and go "O-m-m-m-m-m-m-m" for a while.

13. I think I still move my lips when I read.
This is a fairly recent development.
It started in 2004.

4. You could do what much of what DU does
Edited on Fri Jan-09-09 05:51 PM by Orrex
Attack him for everything he does and every statement he fails to make.

With the exception of one matter (on which he really and undeniably fucked up IMO), he's doing fine. He's already a better President than Bush or Cheney after eight full years!

5. I heard part of President-Elect Barack Obama today
And got a thrill of excitement. It was the portion where he rejected torture. Maybe the mute button on the TV remote will last longer during the new administration.

9. I had to have my mute button replaced twice.
And that was just during dumbya's first term.

6. Repetition should help...
Listen to him every chance you get, and keep reminding yourself that THIS is what intelligence looks like... THIS is what intelligence sounds like... THIS is nothing to be ashamed of.... THIS is nothing to be embarrassed about.

I know... it's been a long eight years, and old habits die hard. It might also help to remember that Bush wasn't really the president:) And he's not really human either.

14. I used to work with a guy named Smart
And he really was smart. He built racing engines in his spare time. He would pick up the phone with: "Smart Engineering, this is the Dummie speaking!"

11. freaking amazing isn't it?????
I was listening to his speech on the need for the stimulus yesterday (1-8-09) and thought, "what the hell, he hasn't stuttered, said terrrrreerrist, or anything remotely resembling his predecessor". I was so shocked that when I got home, I had to tell my wife about it......

What is the other side gonna think about this development??? Never mind, who cares what the other side thinks. They'll spend days trying to figure out his speeches.(and that's just the three syllable words) :hi:

19. It's amazing, ain't it? No puppet strings.
No deer in headlights stare. No tripping over simple words like they're the size of boulders and you've never used them before. No "I can't believe I got here AGAIN for the second time" smirk.

Imagine...an intellect who thinks for himself...in charge....of the USA. Unbelievably believable!!!
