Gay White House Appointment; Lesbian Family in Inaugural Tour

Sixteen families have been chosen to be part of a "Delegation of Families" to travel by train on January 17 with the Obamas and Bidens from Philadelphia to Washington for inaugural events and one is Lisa Hazirjian and her partner Michelle. Hazirjian was part of John Edwards' LGBT Steering Committee and subsequently volunteered for Obama in Pennsylvania and Ohio, serving as the LGBT Pride director for the campaign in Cleveland.

Out gay Bradley J. Kiley has been named director of the Office of Management and Administration for the Obama White House, a post held by lesbian activist Virginia Apuzzo in the Clinton administration. He is currently director of operations for the transition team and served in the Clinton White House as well as holding leadership positions at NARAL and the International AIDS Trust.
