I was listening to someone on one of the talk shows today say that behavior such as his is addictive - the caller was a substance abuse counselor, and he said that people like Cheney were addicted to power and money and influence (I'm paraphrasing) and that they masked their innate low self esteem with $3000 suits. But what caused Cheney to be this way? By all accounts, he's been given many opportunities most of us never saw, was popular in high school, and has succeeded at least according to his standards. So why does he continue on this path? I don't get it.
