my GOP state senator is a jackass

I got a letter from him in the mail last week (since I just got home).

Before xmas, I read here that NJ might become the next state to legalize gay marriage (yay!) and I sent an email to my state senator and representative encouraging him to support gay marriage.

As I got home today, I got a letter from him saying that he was very proud to vote against leaglizing civil unions for gay couples and thanking me for my support to "defend marriage as between one man and one woman"

Hello....... my email to him said the exact opposite. I can't wait to vote against him in the next election.

Would compose what looked like automatic email messages expressing gratitude to whomever emailed him for their continued support and would send them to people who sent him hate mail to piss them off.

5. Who is your senator?

I've only written to my state senator, Dana Redd, once. I actually got a real letter back. On the other hand, I am constantly writing to my congressman (Andrews). I once got two letters in response to two totally different issues that were exactly the same except for about 10 words.

Unfortunately I live in a GOP stronghold of NJ (not as bad as the county south of me though). I'm just glad to have a Democratic US congressman because all my state reps are Republican.

I don't know when the state senate is up for re-election (this was the first year I was a registered NJ voter) but I want them unseated like now.

8. My senator, Diane Feinstein, may be jackassier IMHO. Her suck is immeasurable.

Rumor has it she plans to run for governor in 2010.

Isn't DiFi already well into her 70s (I'm too lazy to look it up). Shouldn't she just retire? I hope she loses the primary race for governor.
