I believe I see what that all-living-presidents confab was about yesterday.
I was watching "my show" Price is Right (I'm a second-shifter. That's my morning coffee show :)).
Then, suddenly, it's the Special Report banner and music. For a split second I thought "terror-attack".....but realized that that wouldn't be a Special Report. Something planned with the networks was happening.

Then, Katie C.

And here's what startled me. She said merely: President-elect Obama will address the nation on the economic crisis. He is not waiting the 12 days until inauguration (essentially). Then, Boom, out walks Obama. Just. that. fast.

Clearly, the Living Presidents advised and consented to this unprecedented early-taking yesterday. The Networks were informed. The feed was set up and Obama assumed presidential status immediately.
If Katie C. and the Captive (corporate) Media are snapping to attention like this then something profoundly different has passed through the very bowels of the American Oligarchy.

This may go in my Book of Memories as the moment I felt a truly significant change in this country. Right next to James Baker calling the Florida Recount a "crime" and, before that, James Watt on his knees praying in his office (the first moment I knew America was in a very new, very serious kind of trouble).

The Price is Right. A totally deferential Katie. An entrance and a speech. 1,2,3.

This is a something new. And after 28 years of non-stop dread, it's POSITIVE!

3. I knew he had been on the Chicago PBS show "Check, Please!" as an amateur restaurant critic but I
had no idea he was on The Price is Right.

;)

2. Good thing the media is starting to wake up as to the order of priorities
needed to mend this country.

Because if we don't get this economic disaster problem solving agenda right, the Price is Right will be featuring 10 cent apples like back in the 30s.

7. And possibly much more.
With all the "fund managers" stepping in front of trains and such, there is probably a Super-volcano of losses going on in high places. Something a truck-driver like me will have to wait for the book to know about.

6. It'll be like that old Yakoff Smirnoff gag:
Soviet Game Show: Bowling for Food
