I used to listen to Randi all the time when I first got XM Radio, but I can't anymore. She talks and rants the whole time she's on except when she takes calls. I feel the same way, and don't need someone echoing my own thoughts. I wish she had more guests on so we could learn something new. And I can't stand when she immitates Bush. I can't stand hearing him talk to begin with, and I can't stand listening to someone immitate him. Her sarcasm is warranted, but not productive. Everything she says is true, but how about some suggestions about what to do about these circumstances??? She's extremely bright, and if she could park her anger and outrage long enough to become cold and calculated, she could probably come up with some brilliant ideas.

But I will defend her 'anger' you hear in her voice sometimes. We have a lot to be angry about.

My ex-husband has a problem with her imitating Bush as well, but you know what? None of us is perfect. If you don't like her, you have a choice. But on her birthday, I rather wish that those who didn't care for her didn't find it useful to rain on her parade.

I agree with other posters here, that I have learned so much from Randi. I now have a much better understanding of how congress works. I really enjoy it when I have read up on something that she talks about later in the day during her show.

I remember the day I was sitting outside in the woods (north of San Francisco), with my radio and my after work coctail, sitting in a tree house, where she went over the details of how after 9/11, all of the air traffic controllers involved in 9/11 were interviewed, on tape. And the next day, some higher up (I can't remember who, darn it), destroyed these tapes. The reason given: Their written reports of the incident matched the verbal. So why did they cut the tapes up into little bitty pieces and then put them in various trash cans throughout the building?

Have you heard this from anywhere else? You can count on Randi to vet her facts before she voices them. And you might hear things that you won't hear on any other radio/tv program. But you can always verify what she is talking about.

I'd ask you kindly to give her another chance. If she is on a rant that doesn't get your tractor going, change it for a bit and then tune in a bit later.

The first day I heard her she was yelling at Nadar. Now I was angry at Nadar, and I agreed with Randi that we couldn't afford him to run in the election (like really wanting that new pair of shoes, but ... just can't afford them right now). And that was the first day I ever listened to her, and I kept on.

So, I ask in a friendly DU sort of way: Give her another chance, approach it as an educational experience. You might be surprised. And if she is on a run with imitating Bush and it irritates you, press the mute button for a while!

And if you don't, that is OK too. That is what makes our country great. Diversity.

Randi is not for everyone, but she definitely is for me!
