Poppy Bush: "Right now is probably a bad time" for Jeb to run for Prez

http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/politics/blog/2009/01/jeb_bush_for_president_dad_sug.html#more

<snip>

""As president, it's about service, service for the greatest country on the face of the Earth and the honor that goes with it," Bush said on FOX today. "I think Jeb fits that description.

"Right now is probably a bad time, because we've got enough Bushes in there,'' dad conceded, but in the meantime, ""If Jeb wants to run for the Senate from Florida, he ought to do it. He'd be an outstanding senator. This is a guy that really has a feel for people, the issues in Florida and nationally. And his political days ought not to be over, says his old father."

4. Took the words right off of my keyboard
Was Poppy talking about this millennium? Because I can't see any way for someone else named Bush to stand for national election.

11. What scares me most about that statement is that there aren't
ANY Pubs on the national scene who look good for 2012. Every time somebody's name is mentioned, there's a reason why they wouldn't been a good candidate. As much as I dislike all the bushies, it scares the hell out of me that Jeb is the only Pub who has national name tecognition, actually speaks in complete sentences, and the people in his home state like him.

18. Poor Jeb. It's all about whether it's good for Jeb. Just 'timing.' That's all.
The suffering of tens of millions and death of millions is nothing compared to the 'unfairness' to Jeb. What a disgusting family. :puke: :puke:

20. Bear in mind....
The Bush family plan was more than likely to have Jeb run for President before. GW kinda messed that plan up, (along with the US), and now the Bush family is trying to do damage control to give Jeb a chance.

I don't think it's gonna happen. The Bush family name is too badly damaged even among conservatives.

25. Old money in the party would run someone like Toni Jennings...
before they'd let Jeb have a go at it. Most didn't want him for Gov. and he was the reason that Jennings came out of retirement to be Lt. Gov. "My Dad and I haven't worked all our lives to build the Party just to see some fool flush it down the toilet." That's a quote folks, in explanation of why she returned to politics.

The Republican Party is re-trenching here like everywhere else.

28. Poppy can't come right out and say this, but Jeb was "supposed" to be the one in 2000.
Dumbass is the oldest son, but Jeb is the smarter one, and the one that dad left the "family business" (Miami CIA operations) to when he moved to Washington DC. Problem is that Jeb lost his first bid for Governor in Florida, and Junior won in Texas. So Chimp had 6 years in as governor by the time of the 2000 election, but Jeb only had two. Hence the dummy theoretically made the better candidate, as far as selling it to the Repuke base.

I'd like to believe people wouldn't be stupid enough to fall for the Bush Crime Family again, but I said exactly that in 1999, and look what happened. :evilfrown:

31. Oh that's the story, they did not manage to steal the fl
gov for him the first time..ya know I lived in FtLaud and couldn't find anyone that voted for either of them either time..well one guy he was out in the street the night of the 2000 election screaming we won gw won..Yea he won..we saw our ballots go into truck mounted shredders at our polling place..
We don't live in Fl any more, after repeated outsourced jobs we moved found an abandon piece of farmland in the woods..
What you said makes sense though.
I had a few people say that dimples 'election' in tx was pretty fishy too.
