THE RIGHT'S NEW PLAN-OBSTRUCTION
IT SEEMS THEMESSAGE SENT IN THE NOVEMBER ELECTION DIDN'T REACH THESE TWO; PREHAPS
WE NEED TO SEND ANOTHER:
Well I'm tired of the right and it's obstructionist ideas.Seems the two minority
leaders (house john boehner;senate mitch mcconnel) are lockstepping in unision to obstructing early passage of the new administrations stimulus package and plan.
their plan to stall any usage of a stimulus package with out hearings(therfore they can stall for months) and committee meetings. this worked in with the 750 billion pakage which the senate added billions in ear marks to. we all see how that is playing out. I don't think the right leadership got the message so lets send them one they can't refuse!
here's an alternative to strong arm tatics:
THE COUNTRY IS REELING IN DEBT. ACTION IS NEEDED IMEDIATELY. WE ALREADY GAVE THEM
750 BILLION TO HELP STOP PEOPLE FROM LOSING THEIR HOUSES. WE SEE HOW THE REPUBLICANS SCREWED THAT UP.
NOW THE TWO LEADERS OF THE REPUBLICANS WHO HELPED PUT ALL THE EAR-MARKS IN THAT 750 BILLION DEBACLE WE NOW HAVE. THESE TWO "BUSINESS AS USUAL CLOWNS" WANT TO STALL
THE NEW ADMINISTRATION FROM DOING ANYTHING.
HERE'S HOW WE COUNTER IT=WE DEMAND OUR ELECTED OFFICALS GET ON BOARD OR WE HAVE THEM CENSURED! AFTER ALL THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO REPRESENT US NOT THE BUSINESS AS USUAL.
THEIR ARE PLENTY OF PUBLIC WORK PROJECTS READY TO GO -PEOPLE COULD BE WORKING IN
8 WEEKS MAX.-BUT THEY WANT TO HOLD HEARINGS FOR MONTHS!
CENSURE THEM!

DON'T LET JOHN AND MITCH BONEYA!

2. Cha Ching
This is exactly what they did in 1993.

Best thing for Obama to do is just pretend they don't exist and work with congress and ram legislation down their throats.

With 59 Senators, they need all 41 to filibuster and that's unlikely. 37 yes, all 41, slim chance.

So if the GOP tries obstructionism you punish them by cutting off every single one of their special projects.

If they can't play nice, they get nothing.

3. Not defending them, but this is what an opposition party does.
It appears our party the appeasers want to have consensus so much
that they will acquiesce. The GOP are many things but they are not
dumb and they play hardball politics.

5. The wingnuts need to see a kiddie shrink
They have a collective case of Oppositional Defiant Disorder, which is characterized by chronic obstructionism. It usually is seen in kids and teens, but some adults who act like kids behave like that.

7. I always wondered if there wasn't a disorder when watching the pukes in Congress
Especially that ginger-headed whiner, Patrick McWhatsisface, who tag-teamed with one of the guys from my area, Tom Price. I'd seen pre-schoolers and kids a bit older with the SAME attitude. To prove a point they would do anything, including lying or throwing public hissy fits. I was always so embarrassed for the mothers of these little rat b*stards.

I've also met a few adults who act like that. Strangely enough, they are usually born-agains who want to convert the world to JEE-sus. :eyes:

8. Same old game different year
The Repubs usual game is to obstruct the new Democratic president from accomplishing anything in their 'first 100 days' (or longer) and then turn around and use it as a campaign ploy by saying 'the new Democratic President and Congress aren't getting anything done. There are a number of things the Democratic leadership can do. First, call their bluff on the filibuster threat. By backing down when the Repubs threaten filibuster you just make it a stronger tool for them. If they want to filibuster the Democrats bombard the media with the idea that the Republicans just want to score political points and aren't interested in fixing the economy, health care, etc. You also make them keep up the filibuster for extended periods. Their leadership may be able to talk them into an extended filibuster once but I don't think they will get their rank and file to do it over and over. Second, work hard to get a few moderate Republicans to vote for closure on the filibuster to neutralize the filibuster threat. If we really wanted to play hardball we could do like the Repubs did and basically change the rules to remove the Repubs participation in the government and this includes the 'nuclear option' on filibuster. I don't like the hardball option because it perpetuates the hard partisanship that has pervaded Washington for so many years. President Obama will have the bully-pulpit to push for what he and the Democrats want. I think he and his staff know enough about the internet to be able to use that effectively to push their agenda. President Obama should express that he wants to work with the Republicans to solve problems and that means not rejecting all their ideas offhand but the Repubs need realize and acknowledge that they aren't in charge anymore and they have no right to try and set the agenda. Loyal opposition of course that's the way it supposed to work. Obstructionist oppostion absolutely not that stops this country from moving forward and ends up being rule by the minority. The Republicans should participate in solving this countries problems in a constructive manner or get out the way and let the adults get the job done.
