1. Well, I don't feel that sorry for him, cause he knew it was in the cards.....
so this is what he signed up for.

I don't know about those little girls though....but he and Michelle must be quite prepared.

Of course, I still worry about his personal safety in terms of his life. I'm sure it won't be easy being hated by the really angry crazy fools that are out there who have no interest in coming together for any purpose, not even to save the country!

2. There are a lot of smart, talented men and women
Edited on Sun Jan-04-09 03:41 AM by Citizen Number 9
some of them right in your own community who give up a lot in order to do the jobs that they do every day. They are as much heroes as Obama is. I won't feel sorry for either Barack or his family. He and Michelle are good parents and have the intelligence and experience to make this decision wisely.

Instead of feeling sorry for him, it might be more appropriate to support him and his administration in every way we can.

I have to say, particularly if we don't agree with some small thing that he does. I am made ill at the hate and divisiveness that has been injected into the mix over the smallest of his decisions so far. He has to govern a country with a wide variety of people in it. We all need to stretch a little to help this happen in the coming years.

BTW, it wasn't this way with Bush because there was very little expectation for his time in office.

3. ... it wasn't that way with Dimson because ...
... he's a whiny spoiled-rotten little trust-fund monster who's family ties leaned on the media to look the other way.
Kinda like: We all know crazy uncle Fred is going to piss himself in church but nobody will comment because he's "special".

Prez-Elect Obama is a grown up and while I'm sure alot of the next 8 years' excess scrutiny is going to suck rocks, he's
100 times more the man than anyone in the Bush cabal could ever hope to be and I'm sure will handle it with the same grace
and transparency that he handled the campaign.

:hi:

5. he wasn't forced to run for the office
I'd also venture to say his run for the office wasn't entirely for US, either. He knew full well the ramifications of what he was doing.

Sorry, but I don't think halo-polishing or worshipping a guy who ran for an office he wanted is something we should be doing here either.

People still do that about Reagan and looking back, that old bastard helped destroy the middle class.

Save the *polish* for the end of the 4 years. Then IF he's completed wondrous stuff for the middle class, we'll all have a grand party.

IF he's -done- wondrous stuff. Not talked about it, not promised it sometime in the future -- DONE, as in completed.
