CNN and Sanchez continue with real reporting on Gaza
They're broadcasting a report on what it's like to be an average person in Gaza. Excellent report.

CNN deserves credit for doing some real reporting.

1. Really, what's up with that?
It's like when Shep Smith and Geraldo went off the Faux reservation during Katrina.

2. Seriously - the other day Sanchez reported the background on Israel's first break of the cease fire
And questioned the general consensus that Hamas "started" everything with "unprovoked" rocket attacks. I sat there simply stunned to hear this on any mainstream channel...

Six die in Israeli attack over Hamas 'tunnel under border to kidnap soldier'

A five-month truce between Israel and the Islamist rulers of the Gaza Strip was foundering yesterday after Israeli special forces entered the besieged territory and fought Hamas militants, leaving six Palestinian fighters dead and four Israeli soldiers wounded.

The Israeli military described the operation as a “pinpoint” raid to destroy a 250-metre tunnel that it said the hardline Palestinian movement was digging under the border to try to kidnap an Israeli soldier – as it did in the summer of 2006.

5. Does Leslie Blitzer have the week off or something?
Can't imagine his bosses would be too happy about that. And I don't mean AOLTimeCNNWarner.

6. Suddenly CNN Cares About Civilian Death
I watched Sanchez yesterday go on and on about civilian death and what steps the Israeli's were taking to prevent these deaths. He kept repeating how many civilians have been killed since this latest war started.

Gee, how many Iraqi's have we knocked off in the past 7 years? Never hear the media talk about our civilian deaths, besides the occasional bombing of another wedding party. No body knows how many people we've killed, but they know it's a large number and repeating it makes them all queasy. Besides were the supposed "good guys" who liberated Iraq and what's a few hundred thousand deaths when in the end, it's all about freedom.
