1. .
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the President his daily briefing. He concludes by saying:

"Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed in conflict in Iraq"

"OH NO!" the President exclaims, ashen faced, "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at his display of emotion, nervously watching as

Bush sits, head in hands. Finally the President looks up and asks,

"How many is a brazillion? More than a million right?"

3. It will be nice NOT to see threads claiming
that some adverse event was secretly engineered by Karl Rove. The guy is a world-class asshole but he's not and has never been an all-powerful Dr. Evil-type mastermind who was able to manipulate everything from 9/11 to Dubya's hemorrhoids.

forgotten. He has left us enough fodder to ingest for years to come.

7. I will miss the constant calls for his impeachment,
although I am betting that when it is clear that the Obama administration will not put its energy into pursuing Bush, then there will be cries here to impeach Obama.

9. I'll tell you what topic I am LEAST looking forward to after Obama's inauguration

The bleating and braying about "racism" that will occupy DU forums every time someone on a right-wing or Republican blog posts a pair of photos likening President Obama to a chimpanzee or some other non-human primate. Barack Obama's ears are every bit as chimplike as Bush's lips and general facial expressions. Quick-fingered photographers will manage to catch some silly or stupid looking expressions on Obama's face as well. Those will be published and distributed widely, as are all the negative images of Bush.

The comparision of Bush to a chimp is and has always been in poor taste (I voted "Don't insult an intelligent species like chimpanzees that way"), and to Obama's opponents it will provide a rationalization for satirizing the new President in the same way. What goes around comes around. Be ready for it, and have fun watching the hypocrisy in action here.

13. I agree with you about making a cartoon caricature of Bush, likening him to a chimp.
Considering the things Bush has done and the people who have been hurt by his decisions, mocking and belittling him is childish because the things he has done are deadly serious with dire consequences.

I agree that the Republicans will have a field day in making a cartoon caricature out of Obama just as has been done with Bush and there will be much hypocritical complaints about it. As my mom used to say, "you can dish it out, but you can't take it".

He could only DREAM of being as smart or adorable as a chimp. Trust me. A chimp would have done a better job AND would have made more sense when it talked.

Somehow, I don't think that there will be as many now. Nor will they be as funny.

16. I don't think they will be as funny because I don't think that Obama will
give them many opportunities. They will still be around, and some will be funny. I just don't think there will be as many. I would guess, at least initially, that the press will be more respectful of what pics they publish.

17. They will just turn into "What's Obama thinking?"
type caption threads. There will still be villains on the right that he'll deal with, so there will still be moments when we'll wonder what's he's thinking.
