That's kind of beautiful.

EDIT: I'm not sure how I got that spelling for "square". I'm totally sober, so that's no excuse.

And what a beautiful and hopeful song to be playing on New Years Eve! I was in NYC, Times Square in 2003. I'll never forget it.

On edit: I just turned on the tv to MSNBC. Awesome!

4. It's 18 degrees in Times Square!

You don't wish you where there. I almost lost my toes the one time I went to see the ball drop in the 1990s - it was about the same temperature. Then my friend and I almost got crushed to death in the subway going back.

Not to mention there was no place to go urinate.

Happy 2009!

7. It was only in the '20's when we were there.
We befriended a cop while we were stuck in the pen and he brought us coffee. A large guy almost puked on us. Still, it was awesome. We stayed at the Carter Hotel because it was cheap and right by Times Square. Little did we know we would have to walk dozens of blocks all the way around because they had the area right by the hotel blocked off. The elevator in the hotel would get stuck between floors, so we had to jump to bring it down to the point where we could get off. The bathroom door didn't shut all the way, and there was a disco on the first floor. It was the most decrepit hotel I've ever stayed in. Like I said, awesome, LOL. I still remember the street vendors selling hot chocolate and toasted nuts. God I love New York!

3. Awesome. It's like a prayer for the future that even those who don't dig the woo-woo
can enjoy.

So mote it be, John. So mote it be.
