Extra Extra Read All About It...More Church Greed...

Federal Way church gets OK for landing pad

A city hearing examiner has approved a helicopter landing pad for a Federal Way church.

A city hearing examiner has approved a helicopter landing pad for a Federal Way church.

It would allow Pastors Casey and Wendy Treat to fly between the Christian Faith Center and its Everett campus. Unless neighbors appeal to the City Council, Monday's decision will become final.

Some neighbors complained at a hearing of the possible noise. The hearing examiner said there would be no measurable increase. There are restrictions against frequent or nighttime flights.

A church spokesman said a helicopter would be used only on major religious holidays or for special guest speakers.

The church moved about a year ago from SeaTac to Federal Way.

Cost of Helicopter.....2 to 3 million at best

Cost of Fuel each week for trip...$500.00

Cost to Staff a Pilot and maintain Helicopter......$75000.00

How many needy people could the church house with those funds?????....500 or more.

This is so anti biblical......Jesus did not say only one man could Pastor a church.......but hey if the fools that fill the collection bucket for such sort of greed want to continue to do so the hey it's not my $$$$....

Non the less....an abuse of a biblical mandate.

1. I agree that this is ridiculous.
The money spent on a helicopter and landing pad could have fed, clothed, and provided shelter for so many.

The religion-haters will use this as another excuse to bash all religion.

3. I hate hypocrisy also. Not what I believe in faith. Not everyone has to share our views, but, they
know many of us find this type of church, deplorable.

4. I deplore the hypocrisy as well.
I don't begrudge anyone enjoying their lifestyles, but I find it nauseating that anyone feels the need to accumulate luxury items costing millions of dollars while people are starving. In this case, the helicopter alone could fund food, shelter, and clothing for so many.

5. The only guest "special" enough to deserve that kind of treatment
wouldn't need a helicopter. :-)

I have nothing against inidividual evangelicals from historic denominations, who are often very fine people, but those free-lance fundamentalists in the mega churches, the self-proclaimed ministers trained and supervised by no one, sometimes act as if they're working for the other side.

6. If they can afford a helicopter, they can afford to pay taxes.

8. Makes no sense at all...
Jesus didn't walk around in fur coats...he was humble. If they truly believe in the teachings in the bible they would know this is wrong. How many could be fed and clothed and even housed with that kind of money? UUGHH...I don't like it.
