cnn 'breaking': NOW the * admin is worried about ending the bombing
in Gaza? What day is this, day 5? This is even more disgusting. Did they not think they'd incur the wrath of the rest of the world? :grr:

this doesn't make any sense.

11. Since when...
Did he notice there is a rest of the world, except those places he wants to blow up?

5. Motherf#ckers. Gaza was operating on their last bit of duct tape and spit
BEFORE this happened.

Every single time we called them sociopaths, it was true, true, true.

21. I must have seen the same one some weeks ago.
Lebanon has one of the highest concentrations of unexploded ordinance in the world now.

I hope we do better next year, SoCalDem.

25. Sorry for your loss.
A very close friend of mine is in hospital ICU tonight after a seizure today during a last ditch chemo infusion for a (now obviously) terminal brain glioblastoma.

Doesn't look like he'll make it for more than a few days. :( :(

I'm hitting the road tomorrow for several months and won't be able to make it back for the service. I've rarely been so sad.

It really REALLY sucks.

I'm very sorry for your loss.

30. Losing a lifelong friend ... it's like an entire library burning to the ground.
All of the stories and memories. One of the few who knows your life story. A giant crater is left.

I saw a thread here yesterday about how family is 'imprinted" in your brain from early childhood.

The thing about friends and dearly loved non family is that it's about choice. Not only do you choose to love them, but they choose to love you.

I am hours, maybe a day or so from losing my greatest fan and my most beloved mentor. I have NEVER felt so devastated.

It hurts to not be able to be there for the service, I've helped his family prepare the details in advance, but I know there's one person above all who would understand.

It's been a tough year for friends and family.

My warmest regards to you, and best wishes for the new year.

6. This is a policy decision.
I was a camp counselor when I was a teen. One of the campers called another camper a horrible racial slur. I let the offended party throw about five really solid punches before I pulled him off.

I'm guessing Bush is taking the summer camp approach to this -- he's letting the Israelis get in a few good shots before issuing a weak protest.

5 days late. And, too late. The ground forces are about to roll in.

8. I think intel is starting to pour in showing another possible "Lebanon 2006" scenario...
...for the IDF if they invade Gaza (or worse than 2006). That would be a serious black eye for Israel... AND for its benefactors.

And I'm thinking she isn't SOS yet. There is still an administration running(not) things.

22. Fuck George Bush
I wish him and his all the suffering he inflicted or facilitated. May he never sleep another night. May he have nightmares about his 'decider' clusterfucks. May he meet his end in fetid water like the residents of New Orleans or in Fallujah like conditions.

I am not one for hating but I hate that despicable war criminal.

27. Georgie is worrying about his "legacy" again.
I initially supported Israel's attacks, but this is going WAY too far. I was expecting one or 2 days of highly targeted strikes, not this BS.

31. Worried about ending the bombing, until an attack on the US is provoked?
Golly, seal in a bunch of people that are in effect defenseless, and then start bombing the heck out of them. Exercise in provocation?

And if there is a serious counter-attack, does Israel and the US get the green light to attack Iran and transform the region into a safe haven for democracy and oil multinationals? Such as Cheney and Rumsfeld reasoning to attack Iraq for the 9/11/01 inspired retribution?

Just skip the depression and start a big war to stimulate the economy? Like we got the time and resources to avert population and ecologic disasters and spend it on blowing each other up. Smart bombs indeed.
