10. You should give a f*** if Palin was covering up her daughter's earlier birth by claiming Trig as her
own ... and then making Bristol trot around the campaign trail with a fake pregnancy belly ... all to cover up a very common family problem in order to be able to pander to her "base."

if Palin stays in national politics, we should all give a f***

There was never a baby. Nobody said anything about a baby. Besides, the campaign is over. All that talk just goes back into the campaign diary, as devoid of meaning as "maverick" or "you betcha" or "wink, wink."

23. I expect we'll see an extremely small "2 month old" in a couple of months.
On the originally announced due date, they'll say the baby was a premature and that's why it looks more like a 2-day old baby. No one in the media will bat an eyelash, and anyone who points out how inane that explanation is will be called hateful and reminded that the campaign is over.

30. 11 days late already.
How late will she have to be for her original due date to be bullshit? And if it turns out that the baby ends up being born mid to late January, that will mean that it's very likely that it's her 2nd baby. The whole "5 months pregnant" line was dished up to prevent people from suggesting that Trig was actually Bristol's baby instead of Sara's. I'd say that if Bristol doesn't give birth in the next few days that the odds of her being Trig's real mother are about 99% or more.

32. Due dates are only an approximation. Anything within two weeks either direction is term.
First babies tend to run late- 41 weeks on average vs. 40 for subsequent pregnancies.

37. So when Bristol doesn't have the baby until late January
or perhaps even February, you'll think it's more likely that the baby was simply a month or more late rather than it being because they lied about the due date to begin with? Because they had every reason to lie about the due date. One month makes all the difference in the world.

41. So I guess that's a yes.
When February rolls along and she still hasn't had her baby, she's just two months late, that happens all the time. You're a very trusting soul. So I guess when McCain 'suspended' his campaign it was really just because he was so concerned about the state of the economy, right?

45. I care and so do many others here.
I feel sorry for Bristol, I really do. But I, for one, am incredibly sick of being lied to whenever it's convenient for a republican. If they get away with this shit, it's only going to encourage them to do it more because they'll know they can get away with it. Obama won, and for that I'm extremely grateful. However, that doesn't mean we should stop holding the right up to the fire. I'm fairly certain that the McCain/Palin campaign lied about this matter to create a distraction. If that is in fact what they did, don't you think they should be held to account?

38. Because they revealed that Bristol was 5 months pregnant...
to distract from all the stories suggesting that Trig was actually Bristol's baby instead of Sarah's. If Bristol was only 4 months pregnant at the time, Trig could have been her baby, at 5 months, it would have been impossible. Pretty soon it's going to be fairly clear that they were lying about the due date. The question is why. Understand now?

49. I really feel for Bristol.
It can be extremely tough to live in an extreme fundy family. I knew a family in BC that felt the "burden" of having a daughter that had a boy out of wedlock, she was 16 years old. The fundy's all looked at the father as being a heretic because he "allowed" this to happen to his family. I think all fundy's would and could fake a pregnancy if given the choice of not being ostracized by the church community. The father of this family was a pastor and was unable to find work in Abottsford as a minister.

For Bristol, who got thrusted into the lime light because of rumors is appalling. I really believe as Barrack said that families and children should be fodder for the gossip mongers. Bristol is 17 and needs time to adjust to be a mother and, possibly a wife.

Let's just let the poor kid be.
