Is it me or has Paid Programing exploded in the last couple weeks?
I swear if I see one more Sham-wow commercial or some slimey quack telling me I need my colon cleansed, I'm going to go postal. Granted, I have been on vacation (use it or lose it) and have had the TV on in the background, but damn, it's endless ads for crap. Does anyone really need to bump their hair up? Who needs a counter-top oven?

1. But You get two for the price of one.
That means you get to throw away two things that don't work!

2. I agree ~ guess the stations are selling time to the
companies like these for lack of sales from the big guys.

I was in McDonald's the other day and the big mac was the depth of my fingernail.

8. really makes you wonder
All I see are scam ad's of none real crap products. There is even one car ad that seems to be some high tech thing in martian speak don't even know who makes the boxy looking thing.

Most of all with all the stores going under and their 80% off sales seem to be more aimed toward getting rid of stock before they go under even if this is not the message they sent it does make one suspect it is.

Nothing seems even close to real any longer , nothing is answered in news show interviews and here we are waiting for the collapse.

9. Yes it has, at all times
One that stands out is in the middle of NBC Nightly News. There used to be decent, higher end ads, now at least half on any given day are infomercial clips that are usually on in the middle of the night.

I was thinking about calling Comcast. If they continue their current programing, I'm going satellite.

13. Noticed it too
I have DISH and we have lost our ABC feed (contract stand-off with Fischer Broadcasting).
That Fischer would consider gouging their customers for more money when stations are increasing paid programming crap is ridiculous.
It used to be just on late night but now stations are filling in with daytime paid programming. After midnight I only get a very few stations that are not paid programming - and the price for satellite just keeps going up!

17. you got it
Car ads used to carry the day. Now no one buys cars, the car mfr's are ready to go out of business, and the only thing America makes is stupid crap like Sham Wow.

I laughed at one I saw today--it was a stupid piece of plastic that women are supposed to put around their bra straps in back. It's supposed to keep the straps from showing when wearing certain types of T-shirts. And the price? $19.95!

I think of all the things that show the depths to which republicans have taken this country, the advertising situation is most revealing.

15. Our NBC station pre-empted the midnight mass with The Pope!!
I could not believe it.

We got the Tyler NBC affiliate, KETK-TV, running a paid program from some local Baptist church instead of Midnight Mass from St. Peter's Basilica.

I watch it every year because I like to see the inside of St. Peter's and all the beautiful sculptures. I learned all about it in Art History class.

I'm not Catholic. I'm not even a Christian. I guess these Babtists in Tyler decided that their poorly produced, poorly performed Christmas show was more important than the Midnight Mass that NBC runs every year. Gawd ferbid the Babtists of East Texas should give a shit about something that is noticed every year around the world.
