Stamford teens arrested for robbing man with barbecue forks

STAMFORD (CT)- Police say three city teenagers robbed a 32-year-old man Tuesday on the West Side, and two were armed with barbecue forks.

The man reported about 7:30 p.m. that three teenagers stole his wallet and $50 after threatening him with what looked like ice picks, a police spokesman said. The man was not injured.

Officers found three teenagers on West Broad Street who fit a description provided by the victim, police said.

Police found the two-pronged barbecue forks after searching the 14-year-old and one of the 16-year-olds. Police did not identify the teens because of their ages.

Police said they recovered cash from the teens but did not find the victim's wallet.
