Does everyone remember the Feeding America fundraiser?
Edited on Tue Dec-23-08 11:42 PM by GardeningGal
I see now why Skinner didn't want to pin the thread (though he did) and instead wanted us to keep it K&R'd.

Just posting this as a reminder.

Edit to post the link to Skinner's thread.

3. Thank you for this reminder.
It makes me sad that posts like this and reminders of other charities don't get even 100 readings, whereas the current controversy gets thousands.

Hey, it's Christmas! It's Hannuka! It's the Solstice!

Let's share!

4. I wish I could donate...
but my job is ending, and I won't know until early January at least if I will have a new job (new job offer requires a credit check, and mine is iffy... ugh), so I have to save all I can for now. I really wish I could give :(

5. Why would it not
have been better to pin the thread. I donated but only because someone posted a thread about it the other night to remind people. If it had been pinned I would have seen it sooner.

6. I don't understand why there is not a banner on the front page. Wasn't there a banner link in the
past?

I was looking to donate again a couple of days ago and I couldn't find any way to do it.

7. K & R, and donated. Even $5 is worth it, if you can. If you can't,
a haypenny. And bless everyone.

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man's hat

If you haven't got a penny, a ha' penny will do,
If you haven't got a ha' penny, then God bless you

9. God bless Skinner but...
Food banks sell the food to the food pantries. Many food pantries are running low on food because they don't have the money to buy the food.

If you're going to donate to a food bank, make an equal donation to a food pantry so they can afford to buy the food.

13. Kicking for the day crowd.
In case any others are wondering, the thread I linked to is pinned on the General Discussion page. In one of the posts, Skinner said he was trying to keep it K&R'd because people see those threads more frequently.

So, even if you can't contribute this year, a K&R will help others to see the thread that may have missed it otherwise.
